In today’s news, Pakistan, World Food Programme, and Green Climate Fund start project to reduce climate-related disasters, Alexandria, Egypt, faces growing threat from coastal erosion and rising seas, United Kingdom bans lead bullets to protect wildlife, United States study finds new prosthesis integrates with bone and muscle to restore intuitive movement, Italian emergency team rescues injured man from cave, New Orleans, USA, offers ideal outing featuring vegan food and wellness, and young elephant-folk return to nature in Sri Lanka.

Today, I'd like to offer a tip on how to manage swelling following a bad knock or sprain. First, gently elevate the injured area and apply light compression. Ice should only be used if the pain is severe or if there’s active bleeding. This is because the early inflammation that causes swelling in the injured area is a natural response of the body to draw the healing components into that tissue. However, excess swelling can be detrimental to the healing process, so early icing may still be needed for more serious injuries. In this case it is better to contact your medical professional for advice. If needed, you can use a pain-relieving cream or medication, but it’s best to avoid those with anti-inflammatory properties such as Ibuprofen in the first 48 hours. Additionally, you should rest the region and steer clear of any strenuous exercise. While diet alone won’t speed up healing from an acute injury, nourishing your body with antioxidant-rich foods like blueberries, leafy greens, ginger and turmeric, and walnuts can support your overall recovery and long-term health.

Laughter can easily smooth out your day, and the following joke is ready to do so. It’s entitled “Banker Service.”

Oscar walked into a bank:

“How can I help you, sir?”

“Can your bank perform two things?”

“Yes, our bank can perform many things, so which two things are you referring to?”

“Please give me a loan and then leave me alone.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Millie in the United Kingdom
