Jeff Bezos has confirmed plans to give away the greater part of his US$124 billion fortune to charity. He indicated that he and his girlfriend, journalist-turned-philanthropist Lauren Sanchez, were “building the capacity to be able to give away this money.” Mr. Bezos said that the funds would go to causes dear to him, such as endeavors that tackle climate change, as well as to people who bring humanity together when being torn apart by political and social differences.
